How to Use The Mini Math !
1. Solving Problems
- See the Problem: A math problem (like
15 + 8 = ?
) will appear in the center display area.
- Enter Your Answer: Type your answer into the input box labeled "Your Answer".
- Check Your Answer: Click the "Check Answer" button or press the
Enter
key on your keyboard.
2. Getting Feedback & Help
- Correct Answer: If you're right, you'll see a "Correct!" message. Great job! Click "New Problem" to continue.
- Incorrect Answer: If your answer isn't quite right, you'll see a "Not quite!" message.
- Strategy Help: The app will automatically start showing you how to solve the problem using the currently selected Strategy (see below). The explanation will appear below the answer area.
- Step-by-Step: Click the "Next Step" button to follow the explanation and animation for the chosen strategy.
- New Problem: Once the explanation is finished, click "New Problem" to try another one.
3. Changing the Math Operation
- Look for the row of icons at the top-left:

- Click the icon for the type of math you want to practice (e.g., click
x
for multiplication).
- Click
?
for a mix of all operations.
- The selected icon will highlight, and a new problem of that type will appear.
4. Choosing a Solving Strategy
- Next to the operation icons, you'll see Strategy icons (like stacking blocks, a number line, etc.).
- Click on a strategy icon to select it. The highlighted icon shows the active strategy.
- Important: Only strategies that work for the current Operation and number size will be shown.
- If you answer incorrectly, the app will use your selected strategy to show you how to solve it.
5. Using the Whiteboard
- Need scratch paper? Click the Pencil icon in the top-right corner.
- A pop-up whiteboard will appear. Use your mouse (click and drag) or finger (touch and drag) to write or draw on the white area.
- Click "Clear Board" to erase everything.
- Click the 'X' in the corner of the whiteboard pop-up, or click the Pencil icon again, to close it.
6. Adjusting Settings (Difficulty/Range)
- Click the Gear icon (Settings) in the top-right.
- In the pop-up:
- Choose "Difficulty Level" and select Beginner (B), Intermediate (I), or Advanced (A).
- OR choose "Custom Range" and type in the minimum and maximum numbers you want to practice with.
- Click "Save & Close". A new problem using your chosen settings will be generated.
7. Checking Your Progress (Stats)
- Click the Stats button (it shows your score like "5/10") in the top-right.
- A pop-up shows how many problems you've answered correctly out of the total attempted for each operation (

, x
, ÷
).
- Click "Reset Stats" if you want to clear your progress and start fresh.
- Click the 'X' to close the stats window.
8. Sound Control
- Click the Speaker icon in the top-right to turn the voice feedback on or off.
9. Returning Home
- Click the Home icon in the top-right to go back to the main splash screen (if applicable).
10. Test Mode
- (This feature might still be under development) There may be a timer or test mode option available for timed practice sessions.
